In recent years Dutchman Nursery Equpiment has spread to various markets within North America. Southern soils with “tap-rooted” trees have created a strong demand for coned spades. A redesigned coned spade (C-series) is now part of Dutchman’s expansive equipment line and is produced in sizes of 33″, 36″, 42″, 48″, and 54″. These spades are built with the same renowned tower, frame, hinge, and blade durability that owners have come to expect. Designed for 30 baskets, the Dutchman Coned Spade will dig 100% of your nursery material for years to come.
Dutchman’s coned spade meets competitors height and width specifications. However, unlike conventional spades that have a fixed width and height, the Dutchman’s C-series can be further reduced simply by lowering the blades to create a more compact option.
3 Point Hitch
A common problem that has surfaced repeatedly throughout the years has been the issue of loading a larger spade onto a smaller tractor. Dutchman has been focusing on this dilemma and has perfected a design that eliminates the use of a 3-pt “lift-mast” assembly. Although the “lift-mast is still a useful tool for providing down-pressure to the spade, its increased weight and size necessitates a larger tractor. Dutchman’s new design is made with the use of a “displacement cylinder” that shares the top-link with the tilt cylinder. This maximizes down-pressure and allows the spade’s center of gravity to be pulled in closer to the 3-pt connection. The lowered connection also allows the spade to be raised high enough to accommodate a basket.
This unique design now allows one to place up to a 28-inch spade on the rear of a 30+ horse power tractor. It also allows you to place up to a 42-inch spade on a Category 3 tractor. It also allows for increased visibility when lining up a tree. This new design can be built in both a manual or automated electronic design - great for cab mounted tractors.
